2023-2024 Increased Fees for Before/After School Care and Summer Programs
The After School Care Program at Rockway Elementary School serves to foster the vision of the school in addition to teaching our students to work with our community to encourage individualism and life long learning.
Mission Statement: It is the mission of the Rockway Elementary After-School Care Program to unite the school and the community in challenging our students both academically and socially. The mission will be accomplished through reinforcing the academics learned during day school and providing enrichment activities where students can explore and recognize their individual strengths and leadership skills.
Our Before School Care Program is designed so that parents can drop their child off early and go to work knowing their child is in a safe environment. Children in the Before School Care Program are taken to the cafeteria for breakfast.
Our After School Care Program includes a variety of academic enhancement and enrichment activities, including homework assistance, indoor and outdoor games. They are also provided a nutritious snack after the end of the regular school day.
Basic Fees and Hours
- Before School Care $80.00 month
- Story Hour $80.00 per month
- After School Care
- $140.00/month – Free or Reduced
- $160.00/month – Regular
A late payment fee of $5.00 per student will be charged for payments not received prior to the first day of the service period.
A late fee of $5.00, per student, per incident, and per program, will be charged for payments that are not received prior to the start of the next service period.
If you are interested in registering your child in any of our programs, please stop by the After School Care office between 10:00 am & 5:00 pm for any questions or to pick up registration documentation.
Nutritional Snack
A healthy snack is provided for your child on a daily basis. The snack is provided by the school cafeteria and based on the children’s Food Pyramid.
Homework Time
From 3:30-4:30 pm students will quietly work on their home learning assignment with the assistance of their Activity Leaders.
Homework Lab
During outdoor playtime, additional homework help will be provided for students grades 2-5 requiring extra assistance or more time completing their homework. A certified teacher will be available.
Computer Lab
All students will have access to the computer lab for homework, projects, FCAT Explorer, educational games, and for logging on to their student portal.
Outdoor & Indoor Play
Students who have completed their homework are given an hour of playtime per day (two hours on Wednesday). A basketball court, field and safe playground equipment is provided. Games are coordinated in advance. Outdoor play is always supervised by multiple Activity Leaders.
